All About Me, Part One

So a bazillion years ago, I posted a giveaway on my blog, and to enter to you had a submit a comment of something you would like to know about me. Yeah…. that was in May. Slacker much? Yep, that’s me. Here are my long overdue answers. I had about 60 questions, so this will be broken up into a few posts.

C (private blog) asked: Do you have any siblings?

I do! I have one brother, Chad, who is older than me by five years. I don’t really mention him or his family too terribly much on my blog because I want to try to respect their privacy.

Amy asked: What do you drive?

I drive a Kia Sportage. It’s black.

Amy asked: What is your daily routine/schedule?

I wish I had either something fun or inspiring to say to this. I wish I could say that I got up at 5am and ran 6 miles or that every morning I practice the art of feng shui by reorganizing and decorating my office.

Instead I’ll be honest and say that my alarm goes off at 6:45. I hit snooze about 5 times and actually get up at 7:20. I shower and end up leaving the house with no makeup and wet hair because I’m running late. I put my makeup on in the car. I go to work, where I am SUPER DUPER PRODUCTIVE (hello, boss and coworkers!) from 8:00-6:00. I leave work and come home to either collapse on bed and either watch reruns of That 70’s Show or take a quick nap before picking up take out or warming leftovers for dinner. Occasionally I’ll cook or clean… emphasis on occasionally. I plop my butt down on the couch to watch reality television, and am in bed by 11:00, where I read for about an hour before going to sleep.

Awesome, huh? I bore myself.

Melanieshea asked: What is your absolute favorite food?

I love me some Mexican food. I gorge myself on salsa and that white cheese dip that most Mexican restaurants are famous for. Do you realize that out West they don’t serve white cheese dip in Mexican restaurants? Insanity, I tell you.

Jill asked: What is your favorite cocktail?

I love a good chocolate martini! I also love cheap champagne (like the $3.99 Andre brand – so white trash of me!), Riesling wine, pineapple and Malibu, fuzzy navels, and screwdrivers.

Jill asked: Do you have an iPod? What is your most listened to song?

I do have an iPod. I’ve been through 3 iPods, actually. I still have a pink iPod mini, circa 2004, that is going strong. I got my husband a white classic iPod back in 2004, and I lost it on a plane ride in 2005. I stuck it in the seat pocket in front of me, fell asleep, and forgot it when I left the plane. I replaced his iPod with a black 30G video (which is now the new classic, I guess?) and for some reason, the sound has stopped working. The iPod plays music but you can’t hear it through headphones or the dock.

My absolute favorite song is Bust A Move by Young MC.

Jill asked: If you could travel anywhere in the world, what would be your top three choices?

1. Hawaii

2. Greece

3. Scotland

Amy asked: Did you do anything fun for your 30th birthday?

I did! My co-workers surprised me with a Twilight themed decorated door, a cake, lunch. My husband got me the super fabulous Kindle. And my parents took my out to a swanky restaurant. You can read about it here!

Amy asked: What is your favorite craft to do?

Picture 028

My favorite craft that I’ve featured so far on my blog has been the infamous peppermint wreath… you know, the one that has left me permanently scarred. It was super cute, though!

Becca @ The Texas Darlings asked: Where did you grow up? Where do you want your roots to be?

I grew up in North Augusta, South Carolina, which is about 20 minutes from Augusta, Georgia. I would love to settle in South Carolina but I don’t think I’ll move back to North Augusta. I love the Columbia and Lexington area of South Carolina. Where we’ll settle really depends on where Jason gets the best job offer post-Navy, though.

with.much.love asked: What is your favorite drink at Starbucks? Do you always order the same thing or do you try different things?

I love, love, love and always order venti unsweetened black iced teas. It’s been absolute torture to give these up since I’ve been pregnant. Occasionally I’ll order a peppermint white chocolate mocha or a hot chai tea latte, but not often.

Julie asked: What is your all-time favorite movie?

Shag! It’s set in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and is about the dance shagging. It’s fabulous… check it out.

Christie in Dallas, TX asked: Who was your best friend growing up and who is your best friend now?

I don’t know if I can really say that I had a best friend growing up. I had lots of friends, but they kind of came and went, so I don’t know that I’d classify them as a “best” friend.

I met my now BFF, Angel, back in 2001 when we were both working for the College of Charleston. Through three moves, four years of long-distance friendship, and countless personal dramas and tragedies, we’ve managed to maintain our friendship. She’s is the first person I call when something goes wrong in my life, and she’s the one person I feel I can be completely honest with without fear of judgment or ridicule. Now that’s friendship. :)

Thanks for the questions, everyone! There’s more coming later.

Great answers! I LOVE cheese dip too. I was traveling in CA and NM and asked a waitress, "Do y'all have queso?" They looked at me like I was a crazy Texan. Ha!!! We must have dinner together someday.

Hmm...we don't have white queso dip here. We do have queso dip, it's just not white!

I'm guilty of hitting the snooze button a zillion times too and running out the door with wet hair with little to no makeup.

Will have to check out Shag sometime. It was made where I was born only I have no memories of it so I wanna see what I'm missing!

Thanks for answering all these questions. It's always fun to learn more about my bloggie buddies!
