A quick update…

Hello, lovely readers! I wanted to jump on the computer for a few minutes and update everyone on what has been going on in my life and in my pregnancy.

First, please allow my to express my deepest apologies for my prolonged absence. I greatly appreciate all your emails and comments. I really do love each and every one of my blogging friends, and throughout these past few weeks, I find myself having major withdrawals from your blogs and wondering each day how you are and what is going on in your life.

As I am sure you have guessed, this pregnancy hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing for me. I must confess that prior to the positive test, I had visions of being a glowing, beaming, happy pregnant woman. Hah! My reality of pregnancy more closely resembles: constant vomiting, bizarre rashes and hives, unexplained spotting and cramping, exhaustion, heartburn that makes me think I’m having a heart attack, and panic attacks. I’m no longer Andrea… I’m Godzilla Andrea – the most extreme, chaotic, overwhelming version of myself.

To be perfectly honest, the reason I haven’t updated you is that my updates would be terribly gross and horribly depressing. Something like this:

  • Threw up 8 times today! What a good day!
  • Thought I was having a heart attack today at Wendy’s. Called my mom crying hysterically. Apparently this is what heartburn feels like.
  • Can’t go to the bathroom. It’s been two weeks.
  • Got sick in the car today. Grabbed a plastic baggie only to later discover it had a hole in the bottom. Note to self: check baggies first.
  • Lost 15 pounds. Is it wrong to be a little excited?
  • I want to slap the person who said mornings sickness ends after your first trimester. I’m 15 weeks and it’s still going strong.

See what I mean?

I promise to be back later this week with baby’s first pictures and more details about what’s been going on with me. Again, thank you for hanging in there – I love you all!

I also wanted to give a HUGE thanks to Cole at All the Small Stuff. Cole has kept Tuesdays at the Table going in my absence. She’s doing a FABULOUS job and has tons of new participants. If you have some recipes to share, head over to her blog and link up. Thanks, Cole! You’re the best!

Seems as though you are going through what all I went through too...down to the puking in the car! Take care of yourself, before you know it your 'baby' will be going to JR high (like mine) and you will laugh at the pregancy memories. :)

Pregnant?! Somehow I missed that! Did you blog about it? I have wondered where you were and why you went! Congrats on being pregnant and I really hope you get to feeling better. There is some nausea medicine your doc can prescribe, if you want it!

Hi Andrea. I'm so glad that you are "ok". I know you're not feeling ok though! I'm a newer reader to your blog, and I've been worried about you being gone. I hope things start looking up for you soon. Someone told me when I got pregnant that what it does to your body is equivalent to you climbing a 14,000 foot mountain. You can do it, but some days are rough! For me, the day I hit my 2nd trimester, it was like a new pregnancy and I felt so much better. I wish you lots of health and happiness! Can't wait to see pictures!

hugs

:)

Oh my gosh...where have I been? somehow I missed that you were preggers. I am soooooo excited for you. Although, I feel ya on the morning sickness thing. Whoever came up with that name obviously never experienced it. Morning? HA, yeah right...more like very minute of the day sickness. I hope you start to feel like yourself soon. Sometimes pregnancy can bring on the oddest symptoms. Funny that something so unpleasant can bring about the most adorable, wonderful gift in the entire world! I promise it will all be worth it.

Ugg you poor thing. I am 20 weeks as of today with baby #2 and just now recovering from the hell called the first half of pregnancy. I can relate on so many levels...I didnt poop for a month, I learned that McDonalds bags are very thin and if you throw up in them, the bottom will fall out and poor nastyness all over the floor of your truck. Yay! And even though ya havent even looked at alcohol in weeks, you wake up every single.day.feeling like you just went to a week long bar crawl across the state. One more thing... yeah whoever says you glow when preggo obviously never looked in a mirror but I have never been so ugly in all of my life.
And on that note- congrats :)

I have missed reading your blogs but have been keeping up with you over at SWC! Can't wait til you back and to see babies first pics! Hope morning sickness gets better soon...I had it the entire pregnancy to the point I had to be medicated!

Big Hugs and know I am thinking of you and the baby that will make you forget the havoc you are going through now. PS I would so love to see pics of the nursery when you get it done. {{{{{{{{{{{{Andrea}}}}}}}}}}}} It is SO good to hear from you! Geez woman, if you're THAT sick why aren't you asking your doctor for meds to help with the nausea? My goodness, that all sounds MISERABLE.

Feel better and try to update us more! Can't wait to see sonogram pictures!

Justine :o )

I'm a big puker too. And I swear it did get better by 16 or 17 weeks. I still puke a little, but only about once a week - which is tolerable.

Welcome back and I hope the sickness passes soon.

Hi Andrea!
It's been so long.. I've missed you!
I am sorry that you are feeling so shitty. I was sick the whole 9 months with my first daughter but if it makes you feel any better I had a much easier delivery with her than my 3 year old. SO I would much rather be a little sick for 9 months.. lol! :)

I'm so sorry to hear that you are having a difficult pregnancy. That really stinks!! Hope that the morning sickness subsides and the rest of the pregnancy is smooth sailing. Can't wait to see the pics!

OMG! Soooooooooooooo glad you're back! Even if you don't post as often, I'm glad to know you're okay..as okay as a person can be when she pukes 8 times a day, but still...glad there's been some movement on your blog. I find myself wondering about you even though I only know your from the blogosphere.
I hope things keep getting better for you!
