I know. Two posts in one week when I haven’t posted in over two months? I’m surprised too. Bask in my procrastination, y’all. I seriously don’t want to clean my kitchen.
Summer is a sad, sad time for a TV addict such as myself. So You Think You Can Dance has aired its finale, and Project Runway is still a week away. I’m attempting to make due with More To Love and reruns of Big Bang Theory, but I AM BORED. Thus the reason I found myself watching the Teen Choice Awards last night.
All I have to say is….
Julia Roberts wore longer skirts in Pretty Woman, and she was a prostitute. What’s your excuse, Miley?
Seriously. Is this appropriate? Even if it was appropriate, which it is not, why would you wear THIS outfit to the Teen Choice Awards – the viewing pleasure of 11 year olds (and me)? Girl, PUT SOME PANTS ON!
That wasn’t even the worst part for me.
Someone please tell me that girlfriend is not dancing on a stripper pole. OH NO SHE DIDN’T! (She totally did.) You can try to pretend it’s an ice cream cart, but that is a STRIPPER POLE, Miley, and you are doing the stripper-hoochie-drop-it-like-its-hot move. Is that 13 year old behind you sticking dollar bills in your inappropriately short shorts?
What in the world is happening here? Seriously? I don’t understand. Someone please explain to me how a parent lets a 16 year old dress and dance like a stripper/prostitute. What message is this sending the audience of the show? Or her fans?
Dude. I don’t even know what else to say. This is messed up. What are your thoughts?

ughhh, I know! I am not a fan of that girl. And I love how at the end of the performance she thanks God. That and stripper poles do not go hand in hand.

All I can say is, I'm glad Mikayla wasn't watching the awards show. She LOVES Miley but that skirt? Is disgusting! She does have great legs though, eh?

Oh gosh, I totally agree with you - about the awards and this being a sad time for tv addicts! I thought the Teen Choice Awards were way too risque! And oh gosh, I seriously could not believe Miley's performance. AND her dad was sitting in the audience. I wonder what he thought...

And my 8 year old wonders why I censor what she watches. Ugh. So glad I veto'd the awards show.

OMG...she looks like a total slut..oopps, did I just say that???! I agree with you tho...there is nothing on TV these days. Can't wait for Project Runway next week. The only other thing I watch is Hell's Kitchen.

Yup, she did! And let me tell you, I have two moppy male pre-teens hanging out here (son & friend) they are so upset that Miley-turned-hoochie. Smart boys!

I totally agree about Miley! Why would ANYONE think it would be ok for her to dance around on a stripper pole on a teen awards show?
My asst. manager at work wears a denim skirt to work EVERY.SINGLE.WEEK that is about the same length as the one in the Miley pic you posted here. She'll wear it one of the days Monday thru Thursday which pisses me off because we aren't allowed to wear jeans except on Friday's. I bought a pair of "professional" pants for work and am not allowed to wear them except on Friday's because my boss said they were made of denim material (which they so totally aren't!). Yet the asst. manager can wear the skanky denim mini skirt whenever she wants.
oh my!!! all the more reason why our kiddies don't watch those teen shows on disney.
She's trying to break that disney image...look at Briney and Christina they did too...quite well I might add!

So glad you are posting again. Sorry that your pregnancy is no walk in the park, but that probably means you'll have a perfect baby who never cries and sleeps through the night at 2 weeks.
And speaking of babies... Miley is just one herself... I'm trying to figure out how she can keep up this "positive role model" talk when she is anything BUT. My daughter (8) is "so over her". Thank goodness!
Girl, I have SO missed you!!! I read your prego update. Sorry you're having continued "morning sickness". I would say "don't worry, it will go away soon", but that is not guaranteed. I will say that the end result will be so worth it!

Yes I agree, that was completely messed up! That poor girl is going to end up like some others who have gone down not so nice paths. The outfit by itself was not the best choice for a 16 yr old but then the stripper pole through it over the edge!

Sooooo glad you brought this up and that so many other people agree with this point of view!! Do you remember years and years ago when Britney Spears got her boobs done and showed them off for the first time at like the Kids Choice Awards?I have a sinking feeling that Miley's headed down the same, sad path.
