I’ve lost my mojo.
My cooking mojo, that is. I’m deathly afraid that I’ve used up all my tricks and secrets and y’all – I got nothing for you today. Nothing. Zip. Zilch. Nada.
Summer, to me, means grilling. Grilling is super simple. You marinate a meat, you throw it on the grill, and the husband cooks it.
Because sadly, I don’t know how to work our gas grill. The buttons and GAS intimidates me. I have visions of unfortunately loss of eyebrow incidents.
Since all the effort I’ve been putting forth in the kitchen lately involves pulling meat out of the freezer and pouring marinade in a zip lock baggie, I have nothing to share today. Because who wants to see my recipe for hamburgers? Nobody.
Even though my hamburgers totally kick butt. Seriously. Ask anyone. They are freakishly small, though. I can never get my hamburgers big enough to fit the whole bun, which kind of ruins in the hamburger experience.
So I’m reaching out to you, dear readers, for help. I need some inspiration.
What are your favorite cookbooks, cooking blogs, or recipe websites?
Where do you get your ideas for your meals?
Just because I’m not posting a recipe today doesn’t mean you can’t participate! Link up below to participate in today’s TATT.
To participate, simply create a food-related post: a recipe, a food tip, a tutorial, a product review - anything food related! Be sure to link back to My Chihuahua Bites! in your post so that your readers know where they can come to join the party.
Once your blog is posted, come back to this post and sign in with Mr. Linky. Please make sure that you are linking to your TATT post and NOT to your blog. I have had people complain that they can’t find your posts when they click on your link, and this is because you link to your blog and not to your post. If someone comes by later in the week and wants to visit you, they have a harder time finding your featured recipe.
So, ladies, what’s cooking?

I think you need hamburger meat with a high fat content. Big, fat patties cook down to just the right size with loads of flavor.
:)
This is my 2nd time participating...and both recipes have been strawberry. I swear I can make more then strawberry stuff! :)
The Food Network has a new website - www.food2.com. It seems like it's somewhat geared for beginners, but I really like it.
Guess what???? Im in the same boat as you, lastnight i was stressing out cause I had nothing to blog today, so glad you dont either!
xx
Aww, you'll get your mojo back!
I get my ideas from all over the place - restaurants, friends, store recipe cards. I rarely do what it says on the card. It's much more fun to put my own spin on it. :-)
Hi Andrea I wanted to tell you a couple sites that I visit alot. I use Kraftfoods.com always great recipes there and a new one I just found is campbells.com. I hope you have a great day

My gas grill intimidates me too! I am always scared to turn it on!

Well. I got nothing for you ;) But Andrea I did want to tell you that I made your tortellini sausage recipe (from last week)for dinner last night and we LOVED it!!!!!
I never have cooking mojo. Sorry, can't help you there. But when I AM forced to cook (i.e. when Jason is NOT deployed) I LOVE LOVE LOVE Ina Garten's Barefoot Contessa cookbook. The very first one she came out with. I love her. Her show, her recipes... everthang!
I go to Smitten Kitchen when I need a recipe!
Lol i'm sure someone else has already told you...but where is Mr. Linky?
lol well goes to show it was an off week i didn't get pics of the recipe i wanted to share... why i cooked it then threw it in the fridge for 2 days because hubby wanted to eat out.
ANDREA!! I count on you to have a fabulous and easy recipe for me every week! You're falling down on the job. I'm disappointed. I kid. I have those times too, like the last month. I've been wanting to post something, but every Tuesday I try to think of something great and wonderful that I have made the week before...and nothing...zip, nada, nil, zero! So, I feel ya.
My favorite cookbooks are the Gooseberry Patch Cookbooks. They are FABULOUS! Inside each cookbook it's filled with tons of wonderful recipes and lots of cute tips and tidbits to help you make you house a home. I love 'em!
Hey, maybe that's what I'll go write a post about and then come back here and link up later. Ok, I'm on a mission.
Oh, and I'm no help with the gas grill. I leave all outdoors cooking up to Michael. I'll marinate, cut, chop, and season...but I don't "grill".
I love grilling! It's so fun!
My husband's obsessed with Alton Brown, so we do a lot of stuff from Good Eats. I get a lot of ideas from Pam from For the Love of Cooking and Katherine from Smoky Mountain Cafe. Also Steph from Live, Love and Eat.
I'm with Victoria, Kraft Foods has the BEST recipes. Love it.
i'm kind of cheating today - i'm reposting my monkey bread recipe :)
I'm scared of the grill too. It completely intimidates me. I'll get everything ready for it, but I won't go near it.
Right now I am loving my Biggest Loser cookbook and I tend to use The Food Network and Cooks.com for recipes.
Good for you, Andrea. I think you deserve a break from the kitchen duty! I'm afraid of the grill too!
I love allrecipes.com because there are MILLIONS to look through, all with reviews.
Also, for a fun blog to read and get recipes, I also like Pioneer Woman, but I'm sure you already know of her.
Justine :o )
