If you haven’t yet read yesterday’s post, Babies on the Brain, please scroll down and leave me a comment. I’m in need of advice, and everyone who comments on that post will be entered into a giveaway I’ll be sharing next week.
Also, please head over to Wyldechylde’s blog – she’s having a super cool pet-themed swap! You will be paired with someone and instead of swapping for items for yourself, you will swap for each other’s pets. Cool beans!
I’ve been tagged by a few people this week, so I’m going to combine them all in one big megapost.
I was tagged by Jen at Tatertots and Jello and Shawn at Seriously for the Keeping It Real Game. Here are the directions:
- Take a picture of yourself right now. No primping or preparing! Just snap a picture.
- Load the picture onto your blog.
- Tag some people to play. Remember, if you are tagged, we’ll be heading to your blog to see if you played along.
Y’all. You have no idea. It pains me to share this picture of myself. Here’s something you should know about me: I’m an obsessive picture deleter. For every picture you see of me that looks halfway decent, there were about 10 other deleted pictures of me with wonky eyes and five chins.
This one would have been deleted, except I got tagged. (Thanks, Jenn!) Look at my wonky eyes! I swear that in person I don’t look as if one eye is larger than the other. Geez.
I tag:
- Jules from Chic & Pink
- Justine from Tiney’s Froggy Bloggy
- Jill from Jill’s Believe It or Not
- Katie from My First Year as a Wallace
- Kasey at All That Is Good
I was tagged Shawn, Kasey, and Jill to share a prom picture of myself. Jill went a step further and had a cute little button made by Danielle, The Design Girl.
Here are the rules:
- Upload your prom picture. If you don't have one, email your mom and have her send it to you. That's what I had to do. :)
- Don’t forget to include the year it was taken. Again, don't be shy. The older the better.
- Grab the "Prom Queen" button and add to your post. Isn't the button adorable? Thank you Danielle, The Design Girl. You must check out her fabulous sale!
- Copy and paste the rules to your blog.
- Tag 5 others!
My mom couldn’t find my actual prom picture, but she did find the pictures we had made at Olan Mills of my in my prom dress, so that will have to do.
This was taken in 1996, for my junior prom. The first thing Jason said when he saw this was “All you need is a baton; you’ve got on your marching band costume!” I look so strange here – like I have a weirdly small head or a very large body. The dress is actually a pageant dress, which explains the sequins and beading. It was just a long column dress that cinched in at the waist. I thought I looked really pretty, but all the other girls at the prom were wearing satin dresses with cut outs in the waist.
I tag:
- Becca from Lovely Yellow Ribbons
- Natalie from The Brocks Rock
- Unwrap Life
- April from Deltakids
- Shannon from Just A Girl
I was gifted with the Neno Award from the lovely Jules at Chic & Pink. This award serves as a dedication for those who love blogging and love to encourage friendships through blogging. If you receive the award, you are asked to share why you love blogging, share your award in a post as soon as you receive it, link back to the person who gave it to you, and distribute the award to other bloggers.
I gift this to everyone who gave me such awesome advice yesterday! I really appreciated everyone’s feedback. If you left me a comment yesterday, this is for you!
HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE! Feel free to participate in either tag, and if you do, please let me know so that I can come by!

I'm not the only one? I too delete a dozen pictures before I ge a "decent" one... & my eyes do that - one seems bigger then the other... what's up with that?
Your pic turned out great though!
I had to laugh at the "baton" comment though about your prom...
I think you look great...beautiful! I'm the same way tho...I'm always deleting pics of me cuz I look too fat or am smiling weird!
Have a great weekend!
Hugz,
Michele
I love the natural look! I always wanted eyes as dark as night, you're a true beauty!
~Shawn
Oh, Lord! No one wants to see me in my prom attire, do they?
Off to dig up the hideousness that was my prom picture....
I delete a million pictures of myself too. Yours is good - you are so cute.
And your prom picture is great. And the baton comment made me laugh!
Have a great weekend!
XOXO

Fun tags! You look totally adorable in your "keepin' it real" pic! Pardon me, but what are "wonky eyes"? I'm not sure I know what you mean by that. LOL.
Your prom pic is pretty! Guys are so funny.
I've been the worst of the worst bloggers this week. Trying to catch up on all that I missed.
Hope you've had a wonderful week!
You look great! Your hair is combed, your skin looks beautiful and your eyes don't seem "wonky" to me. (I'm a compulsive picture deleter, too.)
Yes, you're a bit baton twirler, but if everyone else was wearing cut-out midriffs, I'm guessing your pic is from 1999. That was a good year for midriffs.
Oh no you di'n't!!!!!!! I am NOT showing you the picture I just snapped of myself right now! No way, no how! Put it this way. It's what? 3:30 pm? I'm not showered, I'm still in my nightshirt, I'm sweaty from doing laundry, my hair is sticking up from my CPAP strap and I look UGLY. Bite me on this one, Andrea. Just bite me.
Justine :o )
Btw... I know you cheated and put on lipstick!
Justine :o )
I'm so glad you decided to play along. LOVE your prom photo and I love the comment your husband... so funny!
Oh Andrea Leigh...I love your blog and I love our bloggy friendship and I *love* that you shared a picture of yourself but I just don't think I can bring myself to do it.
Oh and I also love your baton twirler picture...I mean prom picture. ha ha
Are you kidding? I have more pictures of my 4-leggeds than any humans (except for my son that is) I've missed doing TATT, can't wait to get back to it! Head over to my blog, I left an award there for you!
Thanks for showing me some bloggy love and mentioning my swap. I've already added some followers and have at least 1 participant. Haven't checked my email yet to see who else might have joined in. Hope you've decided to join us!
Your picture looks beautiful! But I'm the same way, a big time picture deleter-er! LOL Is that even a word?
If you saw that picture of me before I went to get my highlights that is the real me in the morning, big hair an no makeup. I still can't believe I posted it. I think that is as real as it gets...lol. Jill tagged me for the prom photo too and I will be posting that tomorrow.
I think you look beautiful in your photo tag!
You look fabulous! Look at your skin! Flawless!
My picture has to be the scariest around. I took it, put it up and UGH! Oh well...the real me after being in rain and grilling for 30 students all day at a state park!
Thanks for visiting my little blog! I do love my naps. The 4 kids limits that at times though :)
That "keep it real" photo is smashing! You look gorgeous!!!!
I do love your blog! Great design!
you are so cute!!!!!
Love your prom pic!!
Way to work the sequins! I'd love to play along but all my actual, paper photos are packed up. I can tell you about my dress though...mama made it from a pattern. I didn't want to have the same dress as anyone else. It was a short, red halter with fringe along the neckline. Very cute. Now my daughter and niece play dress up in it!
