Tuesdays at the Table

Andrea's Tues at the Table Red Gingham copy

Happy Tuesday, everyone! Welcome to Tuesdays at the Table! I hope you'll participate by posting your own food related post and linking up to join the party.

To participate, simply create a food-related post: a recipe, a food tip, a tutorial, a product review - anything food related! Be sure to link back to My Chihuahua Bites! in your post so that your readers know where they can come to join the party.

Once your blog is posted, come back to this post and sign in with Mr. Linky. Please make sure that you are linking to your TATT post and NOT to your blog. I have had people complain that they can’t find your posts when they click on your link, and this is because you link to your blog and not to your post. If someone comes by later in the week and wants to visit you, they have a harder time finding your featured recipe. I will be deleting links that don’t follow this rule.

Please try to visit as many of the blogs that are linked up as possible. We’ve had some good stuff posted the last few weeks!

A few weeks ago at the supermarket, I stumbled across this great magazine – Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade. Sandra has a show on the Food Network that I’ve caught a few times, and I really like her approach to cooking. She takes supermarket ingredients and creates shortcuts to delicious meals. I picked up the magazine, and I’m so glad I did. I’ve bookmarked about 10 recipes to try, and she has a ton of super cute decor and project ideas I’m going to be tinkering with as well. If you purchase this magazine, you won’t be disappointed!

Today I’m sharing a recipe from the magazine: Cheesy Creole Pasta. This recipe is super easy, super quick, and super inexpensive!

cajunpasta

Cheesy Creole Pasta

  • 1 package Kraft shells and cheese
  • 1 pound smoked sausage
  • 1 cup frozen onion, bell pepper, and red bell pepper seasoning blend
  • 1 can tomatoes with green chilies
  • 1 teaspoon Creole seasoning

**A few variations: I used spicy sausage, and had my husband cook it on the grill. When it was done, I just sliced it up and mixed it in the pasta. Also, the frozen seasoning blend can be found with the frozen veggies at your supermarket. I ended up with a onion, celery, and bell pepper mix because that was all my grocery store had. I skipped the Creole seasoning because I didn’t have any and it was fine.**

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions.
  2. In a large skillet, cook sausage and seasoning blend over medium high heat for 5-7 minutes. Add tomatoes (with juice), stirring to combine. Remove from heat.
  3. Combine pasta, sausage mixture, and Creole seasoning, stirring to combine.

Link up, and share your recipes for this week! What’s cooking, ladies?

I love Sandra Lee! I really do think she's totally hammered by the end of every show, though.
She sips an awful lot of her drink of the day. :-)
Will give this a try. Pasta...? cheese...? Sausage...?
No need to twist my arm!
