Feeling Crafty

I have a slight problem. I think I need an intervention.

My name is Andrea, and I’m obsessed with wreaths.

Tell me, at what point does this become a problem? How many wreaths are too many? Most importantly – where the heck do I store them when I’m done using them?

Picture 391My mother is a master wreath-maker, if such a thing is possible. She cuts and tucks and fluffs, and BAM! She has a breathtaking wreath. Me? I’m a novice. I need to go to wreath school, if such a thing exists. Which it probably does, at Michael’s or AC Moore.

My first attempt at making a wreath was interPicture 368esting to say the least. Bow making almost sent me over the edge. To this day, I still try to avoid tying bows. I find it confusing and impossible, no matter how many how-to videos I watch on You-Tube.

After my Halloween wreath, I decided to try my hand at a peppermint wreath. You all know that resulted in my horrid hot-glue gun burn and scar. It’s hideous, by the way. It’s been four months, and the burn is the size of a quarter and is dark brown. It looks like a tattoo gone wrong. Take it from me: wear pants when using hot glue.

It really just snowballed from there. There’s practically a wreath on every door at this point. Except my front door – how does that make sense?

…. and then we have the latest edition to the wreath family – the yarn wreath. I love this wreath! I saw Picture 100something similar in a magazine, and fell in love. It was actually super easy. All you need is circular wreath, yarn, and floral fillers. The yarn is thick and multicolored, and the colors (red, green, and gold) match my living room.

I actually still have a list of wreaths I still want to complete. I’m hoping to get an Easter wreath done this weekend. Here’s my to-create list.

I’m telling you, it’s a problem. Someone stop me.

I love your wreaths Andrea and I think you are so creative...I used to be the same way about bows but now people ask me to make bows...I bought a bowdabra @ Micheals for $20 and it is basically just another set of hands to hold it while you twist and put the ribbon in place. It's great!

Its such a good addiction to have though. And I love when you share them, though I hate to hear you are still scar because of peppermints!

U need to put the H wreath on your front door..I no storage suggestions for you, but if you find a good plastic storage box somewhere let me know.. I bought my first wreath for Xmas this year.. Spent a fortune on it at Target it's gorgeous and it's been moved to the back of the door because I can't find a box for it..lol.

I love wreaths too! I think I've said it before but I love your peppermint one!

I just made an Easter wreath with sparkly easter eggs. It was super easy. Hopefully I'll have pictures up soon.

I can't make bows either. I mean, not at all. Its sad, really.

You're too funny!

Do you have an attic? If so hang them from large nails on the rafters, if not I can't help ya.

While you're on a roll fell free to make me one, I am wreathless!

Have a great weekend!

Those are awesome! I'm impressed!

It may sound weird.. but I keep the heavy duty plastic zipper bags that comforters or bedroom sets come in. Then I seperate my wreaths by size and season & store them in there. Keeps the dust out at least!

Hi My name is Ashley and I have this obsession too. I have been told no more wreaths by the other half but that didn't stop me from making a spring one this week! They are all hanging on my garage wall just waiting for their moment of glory on the front door! Love the H wreath!

Oh I cant wait to see the Easter wreath!
Also you can get some scarzone cream at the drug store to fade that scar from the glue gun! I dropped a curling on on my boob once and it COOKED me cause it was hung in my hair and i had to use that cream to get rid of the scar! ha

I love wreaths too! I've only made a handful of them and didn't like most of them so the majority of mine come from Hobby Lobby. Have a good weekend!

I think you're a great wreath maker. I am not crafty at all, so this is all great to me. I like that you hang them on doors in the house. I bet it looks so pretty. I really like your latest yarn wreath. So pretty and the flowers look great for spring!
