Randoms on Monday

Do you ever feel like there are time in life when you are just going through the motions? Like you are living your life but not really experiencing it? Lately I've been feeling so unmotivated and overwhelmed. Blogging, something I once loved, has become a chore. My list of craft to-dos in a mile long. My house is messy and unorganized, and I don't even want to socialize.

I seriously don't know what is wrong with me or how to break out of this funk.

Anyway, now I've shared my negativity for the day, I suppose I will move on to happier thoughts. My 30th birthday was FABULOUS! I had such a great day. I was running late to work, and I was greeted by this at the front door. Pardon the poor pictures - these were all taken with my camera phone.

There were red and black balloons lining the walls, and another sign on the way to my office.

And the best part - my office door! The red and black cards are quotes from the book. Edward has since been moved to the back of my office door, so that I can gaze upon his beauty whilst completing my work.

Of course I'm Team Edward.

My husband is the swing shift at work (4pm until midnight), so I didn't get to see him at all that day. We actually haven't gotten to celebrate yet b/c of his work schedule, so I'm looking forward to seeing what he'll pull out of his hat tomorrow (his day off). He did give me an incredible present - the Amazon Kindle!

On Friday, I met my parents downtown and we had dinner at Magnolias. I've always wanted to eat there, and it did not disappoint! I had the filet of beef, which was topped with pimento cheese. Ohmygosh, it was AMAZING! Afterwards we went to the Market Pavillion Hotel, which has a rooftop bar. It was beautiful, but entirely too cold to enjoy. Bummer! I'll have to go back some other time.

So I want to know - what was your best birthday ever? How about your worst? Leave me a comment and let me know!

On a sad note, could you please visit Yummy Mummy's blog and leave her some prayers and good thoughts? She was 38 weeks pregnant, and while in for a routine visit discovered she lost her baby. Please keep her in your thoughts. She's in the hospital right now, for a c-section.

I am so glad you had a fanastic bday so far...and more to come! What fun co-workers you have! :) That is awesome they made it such a special day.

As for the funk...take a day off girl! Take care of yourself first and we will all be here when you come back! :)

I thought about how you mentioned a guest post...and I was thinking I might be interested. Email me if you are still wanting to do this and what you think that would look like. :)

Hope your day gets better! :)

I'm glad you had a nice birthday and it sounds like it's not over yet. That is so sweet everyone at the office surprised you and themed it after Twilight. I love it! Your hubby got you a great gift and dinner sounds like it was wonderful with the family.

As for feeling in a funk, I completely understand. Take some time for you and the rest will come together. To tell you the truth I took this past weekend off of everything and just relaxed. I really needed it, because I have been feeling the same. I don't know if it's the winter blahs or that there is a lot going on right now. I think it's a mixture of both.

Feel better :)

Happy belated birthday! It sounds like you had a blast!!
My best birthday would have to have been this past one (my 31st) because even though i really didn't celebrate it, it was the first one that I got to spend as a wife and mommy.

OMG, Andrea! Your birthday was the best!! You know I'm lovin' your Twilight b-day stuff at the office! I love what your co-workers wrote on your signs...and that cake was too cute! Love it all!

I'm just a tiny bit jealous of your Kindle! I want one so bad. Tell me how great it is (because I already know it has to be fantastic)!

My best birthday was probably my 13th birthday. It was out at my Aunt and Uncle's. They had a large piece of property w/ a huge covered deck and a creek w/ row boats. Me and my friends spent the whole day out there just having fun and being 13. It was a day I'll always remember.

Actually, my worst birthday was probably my 30th only because it was totally uneventful. Seriously, my husband and I went and had dinner at a restaurant we go to often...there was just nothing spectacular. But it's ok. It was still a good birthday...all birthdays are good birthdays in one way or another.

Glad to hear that your's was great! Have a marvelous Monday!♥

Hi, Andrea, thanks for stopping by my mirror project. And happy Birthday to you. Enjoy your 30's they are great!

You asked about undoing the mirror project for resale, but I'm not sure why you would want to do that. It would enhance for resale not detract from it, so keep those frames up there. Hope you give it a try!

That sounds like a wonderful birthday! I would have to say my 30th was my favorite b-day so far, perhaps it is just because it happened that it is fresh, but it was great to spend time with my friends and family and get marvelous gifts! As for the worst? Hmm, I'm pretty lucky ~ I don't recall a bad one!

Glad your having a good birthday! My worst birthday was when I was turning 12. I planned on having a going to the movies party. No one showed up. I only invited 2 people. So my mom had to take me by myself to the movies..

My best birthday, hmm.. I guess this past years. I got to spend it with my sister and my hubby and a friend. We just went out for dinner and drinks. It was nice and relaxing..

Sounds like you are loved at work! Love all the hard work they put into your birthday.
I know my worst birthday was probably the year when I did absolutely nothing. I felt so blah. I always like to celebrate and enjoy it. I've always wished for a summer b-day though so I could lounge by the pool all day long and have my pool boy (hubby) fan me and bring me sweet teas & dr. peppers. Keep dreamin', right?

Yay... I'm so glad you had a great 30th. You deserve it!!! I love what your office did for you, so sweet.

I think my favorite birthday was my 30th. I had a party with all my favorite friends. They were so sweet and brought me tons of fun presents.

Hey girl- sorry you aren't as "up" as you wanna be- but spring will be here soon and the weather will get better which always makes me feel a little less "funky". Or taking some "me" time and giving myself a pedi or just sitting in the bath.

My favorite birthday had to be my 22nd. It was my senior year of college and I threw myself (and my birthday partner/ close friend) a huge party at her house. Well, not so much a party, but a pre-funk event. There were about 20 people there and we had cake and sang and then painted the town red for the night. I even went so far as to get Dollar Store ribbons that said "it's my birthday" for the two of us. It was a blast, even if not many of us made it to class the next morning ;)

HA! Just read your comment and I am laughing out loud. I know exactly the feature you're talking about in Glamour. $450 for a coin purse is out of control.

Happy b-lated sorry this is a tad late! I love what your office did for you totally cute! I am glad you had a great birthday!!

As for your funk take some time off! Shut your computer down for a couple of days and just spend some time with the hubby and friends! It helps you put things into prospective! I just had to kinda do that somewhat and now I feel refreshed! Just remember this is your blog your journal and no one will fault you if you don't post daily or even weekly!! Do what makes you happy and screw the rest of the world! LOL

So I just wanted to let you know I totally lost track of the days and will be mailing my box out to Ashley tomorrow! so sorry about that but so excited too! I hope she loves it!!

So glad you had a great birthday! Magnolia's and the Rooftop at Market Pavilion are two of my favorite places!

My 30th birthday was actually my best and worst if that is possible. It was incredible because my husband and I got engaged the weekend before and of course I was on cloud nine that week.

However, I got called to work out of town shortly after and was working in Madison, Wisconsin, ALONE in the office and on Memorial Day. No one remembered it was my birthday because it was Memorial Day, I was the only one of my friends actually working and I was in Wisconsin. A small town southern girl in Wisconsin. Don't get me wrong, it was gorgeous there, but just not where I wanted to be spending my 30th birthday.

Those twilight signs are hilarious!!!! And you got a Kindle!!! You'll have to do a review on how you like it! I'm curious about them. Hope you're feeling better!!!!

How did I miss this post?!?

We all go through funks, pull yourself out it will be ok!

Team Edward huh? I wish they made 'I Go Both Ways" shirt because I was so torn throughout the entire series. Although a shirt like that would be somewhat controversial wouldn't it? My indecisiveness drove my daughter crazy!

What a great group of people you work with to do such wonderful things for you. Almost makes me want to get a job...almost!

Andrea it looks like you had a great birthday! My brother lives in South Carolina and I flew over to visit him last summer...I ALMOST went to Magnolias but we had eaten a late lunch and we both weren't up to filling our tummies that much on that day. Dang, now I wish I would have gone. I did LOVE Boone Hall Plantation though. :)
